Deep Thoughts from Toke

Hi everyone!
My name is Toke and I am the REAL editor of this magazine. I live with Ma Person and Da Person, the old guy and the ditzy girl outside Asheville, NC. Ma Person says she has been doing this obedience thing since the mid 90’s. That seems like a long time! She says she has organized and run A LOT of obedience and rally trials including the 2014 GRCA National Specialty. She said they had over 500 entries and was the biggest on AKC record. Maybe still is? That’s a lot of goldens!

Anyhow, I heard Ma Person talking with Ms Margo who has those black dogs with pointy ears and they were talking about how much they missed something called the Dixie Dog Calendar and how hard it was to find events to take us doggies to. So Ma made this newsletter. I hope you enjoy it!

Ma Person calls this home schooling. She shows me Janice Gunn videos and expects me to do stuff.
This is my VERY FIRST Rally Novice B class. Ma Person said I did well. I did this twice that day and got a red ribbon and a blue ribbon. I’ve done it three time more, all with blue ribbons. Ma Person says I am good at this and can put some letters after my name!
This is the Ditzy Girl. It was her first competition too. She also has two blue and a red ribbon and initials after her name. I hate to break it to Ma but I think she should quit. I don’t think she enjoys this training stuff

note from Tokes person: He is an opinionated young golden who doesn’t know half of what he spouts off about. But he is a good boy and we love him. His full name is Lycanin Smokin’ in the Boys Room RN, BN – I have big plans for this boy! The “Ditzy Girl” is actually my punkin’, Tyler. Tanglewoods Rowen Tree, RN. Tyler had a late start in obedience due to an unfortunate accident and we are happy to let her play this game if it makes her happy
